Gary Earl Stone Jr., known affectionately as Junior, was shot to death about 6 p.m. June 27.

Sylacauga police responded that Sunday to 413 N. Nashville Avenue in the Buttermilk Hill community on a report of a person shot. Once on the scene they found Stone suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to Stone’s obituary, Stone had a great sense of humor and always made others laugh.

“As an adult, he was a trendsetter. He was always clean from head to toe. After working at Footlocker and Victoria’s Secret, he kept his eye open for all things fashionable. However, Junior was not the selfish type, he would share his shoe collection with numerous friends and family,’’ the obituary reads. “Junior was very talented in the music industry and had a creative eye for new and exciting business ventures. His musical stage name was, SELFMADE JR. With the help of Cameron Hodges, JRoc Howard of Equality Records, and Brandon Sanborn of Sanborn Films, SELFMADE JR musical passions were being shared all over the country. He was just about to blow up.”
