BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The brother of a man whose horses were shot and killed in McKenzie County says a $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to conviction in the case.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that three brood mares were found dead Sunday in a pasture near the entrance to the north unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
Russ Kling says investigators have told him they are following up on leads.
Kling says the mares are owned by his brother, Dale Kling. The mares were part of a herd that is used to supply bucking horses to rodeos.
Kling says one of the mares was shot at least eight times and another was shot in the head.
