Reward offered for tips in slaying of 26-year-old man in Talladega County

Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who shot and killed a 26-year-old man early Saturday morning in Talladega County.

Don Andre Sanders Jr., 26, was taken to Citizens Emergency Room in Talladega with life-threatening gunshot wounds when he was shot around 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Swain Lane in Alpine, according to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, which announced the reward on Monday.

Sanders died at the hospital of his injuries.

Authorities do not have any suspects identified, and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is putting up a $1,000 reward for leading to the arrest of a suspect in the case.

Anyone with information on the homicide was asked to call Talladega County Sheriff’s Office or CrimeStoppers using the organization’s 24-hour tip line at 334-215-STOP, 1-833-AL1-STOP or download the P3-tips app. Tipsters were asked to make sure they receive a tip ID and password in order to talk with investigators in case there is a follow-up question.
