Animal advocates push for stricter animal cruelty laws in Clinton County

A group of animal advocates banded together this weekend to push for stricter animal cruelty laws in Clinton County. The protestors gathered in Plattsburgh at the Clinton County legislature building Saturday in recognition of National Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. The group is pushing for a change to the county’s tether law.County legislator Wendell Hughes was in attendance along with other animal lovers who wanted to see a change to the existing law. The group filled an SUV with donations for the Elmore SPCA, which were handed over to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
