A Jefferson County man has been found guilty on three counts of rape of a child and five counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.
Cody Whitacre plead guilty to all eight charges against him and faces 20 years to life with the possibility of parole after 15 years.
“These allegations came to the attention of the Steubenville Police Department from the Internet Against Children Task Force,” Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jeff Bruzzese said. “Detective investigated and throughout his investigation uncovered undeniable evidence of sexual abuse of a 3-year-old child.”
Whitacre must also register as a Tier 3 sex offender for the rest of his life.
