Reward offered in Blue Mounds homicide case

UPDATE (WKOW) — Dane County Sheriff’s officials say that the jogger has been identified.


DANE COUNTY (WKOW) – Dane County Sheriff’s detectives have released images of a new jogger who may have been in the area Jan. 15 where a Blue Mounds man was found dead.

The body of Nicholas Day, 26, was discovered on County Highway JG near Bergum Road in the town of Blue Mounds. His death was later ruled a homicide.

Madison Area Crime Stoppers is now offering a $1000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Investigators with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office are reviewing a large amount of video they’ve obtained from when Day’s body was found.

They are hoping to identify the individual in the pictures released Thursday.

The jogger was seen running past the Mt. Horeb Municipal Building, at 138 E. Main Street, between noon and 12:15 on Jan. 15.

This person is not a suspect, but detectives would like to speak with him.
