INDIANAPOLIS — The man accused of shooting two judges at a downtown Indianapolis White Castle has been convicted on a handful of charges.
Brandon Kaiser was convicted of aggravated battery, battery by means of a deadly weapon and carrying a handgun without a license.
Police said the shooting happened in May 2019 at the fast food restaurant located near Illinois and South streets. They believe an earlier fight led to the shooting.
Two judges were temporarily suspended after the incident. A third, Crawford Circuit Court Judge Sabrina Bell, later stepped down after unrelated domestic battery charges.
The judges were in town for a judicial conference when they got into an altercation with Kaiser and Alfredo Vazquez. A fight broke out, leading to a shooting that injured Clark County Circuit Court No. 1 Judge Andrew Adams Andrew Adams and Clark County Circuit Court No. 2 Judge Bradley Jacobs.
The Grand Jury declined to file charges against Judge Bradley Jacobs.
In September 2019, Adams pleaded guilty to battery and received a one-year suspended sentence.
In November 2019, Vazquez pleaded guilty to battery resulting in injury and was sentenced to one year of probation.
Kaiser’s sentencing is set for Oct. 21 at 11 a.m.
