BREAKING: Wally the emotional support alligator reported stolen

Joie Henney a resident of Dauphin County, and the owner of Wally, a well known emotional support alligator has reported him stolen while visiting friends in Georgia.

Henney told us over the phone that he has been missing for a week in Brunswick.

Last Sunday, Henney woke up from a nap and went to check on Wally in his enclosure in the morning to see if he wanted to come inside the house. He noted it was unusual for Wally to be quiet around this time of day. When he approached the enclosure, he noticed Wally wasn’t anywhere to be found. Henney told us there weren’t any signs of escape and someone would have definitely had to have known Wally to get into the enclosure. Wally does not wear any of his emotional support gear while in his enclosure. He is microchipped. The current belief is that he has been stolen.

Henney has been in Georgia searching for the last week. He told us a group of people in the area were threatening to take Wally and release him back into the wild. During the search, one of Henney’s friends reported to him that they overheard someone at a local bar bragging about how they stole an alligator. The bar told Henney that they’re going to try and get the subject’s name the next time they come in.

Henney is currently attempting to obtain a needed permit required by Georgia law so they local animal control services can help search for Wally.

Henney said a reward is being offered for his return. He just wants Wally back, unharmed, no questions asked.
