Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

Tumble let out a sigh, hiding in the shadow of the bakery. He looked over at the brightly colored Avus, Pepsi. He’d only met the harpy a few days ago, spotting him stealing from the very same stand as him in uptown Baraahn. Even if Pepsi was a head-strong and impulsive Avus, he was practically made for distractions. “Do I need to relay the plan to you again?” He said, eyeing the harpy. While he probably remembered the plan, Tumble wanted to make sure everything went to plan, who knows the kinds of grudges Avus can hold in these small towns.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

Pepsi peeked from around the corner, eyeing the entrance to the bakery. He didn’t seem anywhere near as cautious or nervous as the armadillo avus, and was much more focused on the sweet and delicious scents of pastries and baked goods comming from inside the building.

Yeah, yeah relax. I distract, you grab the goods, we bolt outta there. Don’t really need more of a plan for it.” Pepsi didn’t really get why Tumble was so insistent on making a whole plan just for stealing some food. Plotting out every step was a waste of time, really.

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

Turquoise let out a hum as they waited in line. It didn’t take long for the line to move forward and for them to make their purchase. They alright knew what they wanted, which would make this quicker. “I’ll have that one please.” They said, pointing at a raspberry pie.

The gryphus really loved pastries, and tried to support the local bakeries whenever they could. The baker grabbed the pie and placed it on the counter, wrapping it in a leaf and tying it off for easier transport. Turquoise paid the baker and thanked them, before making their way outside.

They sat down not far from the entrance, placing the pastry next to them. They sifted through their bag, and counted their remaining coppers in their hand, not noticing the two avus planning a heist not too far from them.

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

There.” He says, narrowing in on the distracted peafowl gryphus. They weren’t too far, and the pastry was gonna be easy to snag. Looking around, he motions to Pepsi with his head as they get closer to their target. ”After you.” He gestures, waiting for him to cause a ruckus. ”And don’t come back this way when your done, go around a different way.” he huffs.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

HOLLY SMOKES, A WHOLE PIE.” Was the only thing going through Pep’s mind as he only half-listened to Tumble.

Yea, sure, sure.” He said, midway through the armadillo ghyphus’ last sentence and took off.

YOU!!! STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!!!” He yelled as he jumped out next to the peafowl avus, pointing a finger at him in an accusatory fashion.

News from Plains, no peace, no trades, anything made from grain is now ILLEGAL in the Northern kingdom!!! The bakeries were supposed to be on STRICT LOCKDOWN!!! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY FOR YOURSELF, WHEAT-SMUGGLER?!

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

Just as Turquoise had started to put away their coppers, a sudden blur of blinding neon green and purple jumped in front of them and started shouting. They dropped their coppers in surprise at the sudden noise, which made a scowl cross their face as they turned to Pepsi. His rather large expressive eyebrows raised at his words, not believing this outrageous allegation for a second. They were also quite surprised to find that he was a harpy, after the treaty was called off he thought he’d see very few of them from now on.

Look at what you did… Ugggh.” They groaned, putting a hand on their face before starting to pick their coppers up, keeping an eye on the blaringly loud harpy as they did. “What I have to say is…” They put a talon to their beak in thought, before regarding Pepsi once again, “What are your qualifications to make such a bold claim?

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

He let out a long sigh, feeling his brain cells dying listening to such a ridiculous claim. At least it’s working, the larger Avus distracted by Pepsi’s accusation. Now or never. he thought to himself with a huff, skittering behind the gryphus. He stiffened when they looked up from the coins they’d dropped, only to regard Pepsi on his outburst. Tumble let out a mental sigh of relief, putting his beak under the pie and sliding it on top of his head, shifting so that it ended up on his back between his wings. With how short his legs were, it would’ve been much harder to make a quick get away with it in his beak.

As Tumble walked a short distance away, he nodded to Pepsi. He wasn’t out of sight yet, and he prayed to the dragons that this brightly colored fool didn’t give away what was happening to their unsuspecting Avus.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

Pepsi let out a very offended gasp, his feathers ruffled angrily, “OH! ‘WhAT aRE YoUr QUaLIfIcATioNs’, what do you THINK they are?! Why do you THINK a harpy would be allowed to go through the boarders?! Don’t try to play smart with me! What else did you bring out of that bakery?! Bet that bag’s full of the most illegal of powders! FLOUR!!!

Pepsi tried to take a peek if Tumble already managed to hide with the pie, but couldn’t see anything from behind the larger avus, he’d have to guess.

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

Turquoise had finished putting away the coppers, and put his full attention on Pepsi, staring at him with his multi-colored eyes. The gryphus could care less about why the harpy was in the northern kingdom, the most militant out of them all. Why anybody would want to live or come here was beyond him. “Personally, I don’t care or know why you’re here. Especially in the northern kingdom of all places. Maybe your qualifications in this kingdom are to pester strangers for your own amusement?” Turquoise scoffed, and turned around to pick up his pie.

I really don’t have time for your antics. I’ll be taking my leave. I hope you have a good day.” Then they locked eyes with Tumble, and there was a silent moment of disbelief.

Hey! HEY! GET BACK HERE!” They shouted. In a flurry of green tail feathers, and with surprising grace, they launched forward in a run straight towards the thief to retrieve the pie. I should have known that blindingly bright disaster of an avus was up to something.

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

As soon as the peafowl lunged, Tumble knew the jig was up. He immediately started to scramble, looking around for an exit. ”Times up Pepsi!” He yelped, desperately weaving into a larger crowd of Avus, praying that the pursuer will lose track of him. He can meet up with the harpy after, but right now he needed to focus on getting away from the now very angry gryphus on his tail.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

Speaking of having someone on your tail, as the fox gryphus yelled and was about to jump, for some reason Pep’s first instinct was to grab onto the theft victim’s tail in a vain attempt to slow them down and buy his crime partner some more time. Instead he felt his whole body being suddenly pulled forward as he was now being flung around, holding onto a running avu’s tail.

Guess that’s as far as Tumble’s plan went anyway and it was now time for Plan B, which was that there was no plan.

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

The blue and orange gryphus didn’t pay much mind as Pepsi grabbed onto his tail and kept holding on. At least it was on their plumy fox tail and not one of their precious tail feathers. Turquoise honed in on Tumbleweed and made their way through the crowd with surprising ease, using their slim body to weave through the crowd.

Unfortunately this chase brought on a fair amount of attention at the strange sight of an armored gryphus scampering away with a pie on his back, with Turquoise on his tail and well… Pepsi on Turquoise’s tail. “Give that back you thief!” They shouted again, not happy. They were already in a grumpy mood and now their damn pie of all things was getting stolen.

Aedes | She/Her | Gryphus | Tanner

Aedes trudged through the small town, uncomfortably shifting the heavy sack of flower strapped to her back. She was far from cut out for broadwing work, but Dianthus was far more noticeable than ‘yet another small brown gryphus’.

The sound of the pursuit reached her ears before the sight did, but the spectacle that followed the little armoured gryphus was certainly… well, it was what it was. She tried to keep her head down and carry on towards the bakery, she really did, but- low profile be damned, might as well make a good reputation for myself while I can.

Oi!” she barked, bounding forward and cutting the shelled gryphus off from his initial trajectory, “what in the dragon’s flaming asshole is going on here?!” She didn’t bother arching her back, merely planted her feet under herself firmly and waited for whatever was next.

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

This is why they needed a backup plan!! Tumble screamed in his head. That’s what he gets for listening to the stubborn harpy, he should’ve realized the second he laid eyes on that peafowl. Tumbleweed was so busy berating himself, he almost ran right into the large gryphus that had stopped in front of him. He skitted to a halt, almost dropping the pie in his haste. Tumble stood there, head cranes up and mouth gaping, trying desperatley to find an excuse as to why he was running from someone who was calling him a thief. “U-uh.” Yeah, he wasn’t the best liar. “O-Oh! W-were playing a game! Yes! Just h-harmless fun!” He chuckled nervously, “Y-You see, we uh, like to pretend! So, my friend chasing me is ‘pretending’ to be a guard, and I am ‘pretending’ to be a thief!” Dragons, this was the worst lie that could’ve ever come out of his beak. “Now…” as he looked back on the quickly gaining pursuer. “I’d like to win this game please, if you don’t mind.” Tumble squeaked, shuffling to the side and hopefully passing the intimidating hen.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

Meanwhile Pep, unaware of Tumble’s predicament managed to slowly climb onto more stable ground, which was the peafowl gryphus back. He quickly stood up on his hind legs, trying his best to keep balance with his long tail and not immediately fall off, and reached for his lute. “Leave no witnesses.” he said as he bonked the gryphus square in the head with the musical instrument as a final hail mary attempt to stop the chase.

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

The artist chased after Tumble, yet he shook as he ran to try and throw Pepsi off of his back. When able, he tried to flap his wings to try and throw him off that way too. “Get off you little bastard!” But it apparently didn’t work, because just as Tumble came into his line of sight once more, Turquoise got hit on the head.

Stunned, the gryphus tripped, and fell onto his side, which unfortunately would leave some bruises, scrapes, and worst of all lost feathers and fur. He rolled towards Aedes and Tumble, but skidded to a halt before he crashed into them.

With a small whine, he raised his head and looked around, only to see some of his beautiful feathers laying on the ground.

With a jolt of sadness, he mourned his ruined appearance, looking absolutely crushed. Then a flash of anger as he spotted Tumbleweed a few feet away from him. “You!

He got up, and stalked towards the shelled gryphus. If Turquoise was mad then, now he was furious. His fur and feathers were on end in anger, as he stood to his full height above Tumble. He didn’t pay any mind to Aedes at the moment, all he was focused on was the pie thief below him. By the look on the peafowl gryphus’s face, it wasn’t looking too good for him or Pepsi.

Aeded | She/Her | Gryphus | Tanner

Aedes arched an eyebrow as the shelled gryphus stammered out what was perhaps the worst excuse she’d ever heard. “Right,” she hummed doubtfully, stepping forward to bar his passage once more, “how about we check your friend knows all the rules first?

Said ‘friend’ didn’t seem to be having any more fun than before, flapping like a startled chicken as the bright little… was that a harpy? Whatever they were, the small avus stayed firmly fastened to the blue gryphus’ side. She watched on, utterly baffled as the smaller avus- definitely a harpy- sent the gryphus sprawling to the ground with what appeared to be some kind of instrument. Interesting strategy, I’ll give it that.

Aedes considered letting the gryphus handle the situation from here. She glanced from the pie on the smaller gryphus’s back to the glowering blue and orange avus that bore down on them. Actually, let’s not do this over a pastry.

What’s going on here?” she interjected firmly. She didn’t budge from her position in front of the little armoured gryphus, but she put on her official no-nonsense face.

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

P-perhaps!” he replied breathlessly, maybe he could salvage the situation? Perhaps Tumble could simply give the pie back and play it off as an act. That was until Pepsi took fate into his own hands and wacked him in the head with an instrument. Tumble’s nervous expression turned to that of utter fear as he watched the larger gryphus tumble to a stop in front of him. We’re so screwed. He thought, there was no way that Avus would think it was a joke now…

If looks could kill, he’d be dead on the spot. As the blue avus stalked closer, a look promising immense pain, he backed up until he hit the paw of the brown avus behind him. Okay, you can’t fault him for being so jumpy, when a situation turned from bad, to worse, to possibly getting killed. As soon as his back touched her paw, he let out a yip and curled up, the pie still balanced between his wings as he hides away in the armored shell.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

With the bigger avus’s fall Pep also found himself tumbling onto the ground. his head spun a bit for a moment but soon he realized his and tumble’s situation, and that there were two larger avus looking down at him, one of which looked MAJORLY pissed. Pep considered his options for a moment, but realizing there wasn’t really much of a solution he just shrugged. “Ah well, it might be oddly specific but for some reason i always suspected I’d die for a pie.

And so he sprung back to his legs into a brawl ready position and balled up his paws into fists.

Well, come on you government dogs, I can take the both of you!” He sounded pretty excited for the fight.

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

Turquoise snarled at Tumble and Pepsi. One that they’d probably be horrified of if they saw on another avus. When they saw Pepsi, their eyes blazed in anger, especially after he called them a ‘government dog.’ This unfortunately only fueled the flames, one that might rival the sun. They were practically seeing red. “How dare you call me one of them!” They spat, raising their hand, talons splayed. Unless stopped by someone, it became apparent Turquoise might seriously injure them.

Yet it appears that someone was Aedes. When she asked what happened, the question jolted them back into reality, and they hesitantly placed their hand back on the ground, looking at her. “They stole my pie… but as you can see it got quite a bit worse thanks to them.” Turquoise nodding towards Pepsi and Tumble. Their fury was still very much present, and they silently hoped the brown hen would let them be alone with the two of them. Those thoughts quickly came to a screeching halt as it struck them that they were about to hurt someone, which horrified them.

Aedes | She/Her | Gryphus | Tanner

Aedes watched as the conflict played out, paying particular attention to the larger gryphus. From their fumbling to shake the harpy off before, they didn’t strike her as a fighter. Her haunches tensed as they raised their talons, but she relaxed again as they heeded her warning. Good. None of you look like you have any idea how to fight.

She snorted with amusement at the harpy’s challenge, “mate, I’m a tanner, I just don’t want trouble in my town. These are good people just tryna get by.” She nudged the curled up gryphus with a paw, “what’re you stealing pies for?” She had a hunch it was the same reason half the kingdom turned to petty theft, but it couldn’t hurt to ask. She didn’t want them giving Six trouble.

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

The gryphus rolled slightly when nudged, peaking out but not fully uncurling. He hated feeling as pathetic as he does right now. After a few moments of tense silence, he broke, ”We can’t afford food.” He huffed, ”I usually steal from more well-off folk up in uptown Baraahn, but after I met Pepsi, we got caught and chased out.” he curled in a little bit at the memory. The guards quick pursuit of the two thieves, Tumble knew whatever punishment was given would be harsh if they’d gotten caught. He uncurls and slides the pie down his back so it lands in front of him. ”Just take it, we can find something else. And you can put your paws down Pepsi.” He groaned, slightly annoyed that his partner in crime continued to exasperate the situation. ”Apologies for the trouble.” Tumble winced, noting the larger avus’s disheveled state after getting hit with a lute.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

Pep seemed almost disappointed there was gonna be no brawl. Also not particularly happy at Tumble giving up on their prize so easily.

WHAT?! No way, we stole that pie fair and square! Mr-fancy-tail over here can go find his own pie to steal.” Pep showed no desire to back down and was still dead set on keeping that pastry.

Really, you need to grow thicker skin Tumble.

he paused for a moment, analyzing his words.

…metaphorically!

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

Turquoise gazed down at the two of them, still feeling ashamed of himself for trying to hurt both of them. They listened to their story and raised an eyebrow at what Pepsi called him. That’s a new one.

They put a hand to their face, and dragged it back their head and onto their neck in thought, staring at the pie, before looking back at the three of them, sighing. The gryphus sat down, tired, and curled their now scruffy tail and long green feathers over their feet.

Just… take it.” They pushed it back towards the two tiny thieves. “If you asked I would have given you some. I was just going to have it for lunch, but it appears you both need it more.” Turquoise was still mad of course, but didn’t say anything. Why wouldn’t they be mad? They held their appearance above all else, and they weren’t looking the best right now after taking a rather large tumble in the dirt.

Aedes | She/Her | Gryphus | Tanner

Aedes nodded approvingly at the colorful gryphus. Generous, good. This bloody kingdom needs all of that it can get. She then turned to the thieves, considering her options for a moment. Clearly living here wasn’t going well for them, and the harpy definitely had the spirit for it. But they were also strangers, and possibly more trouble than they were worth to boot.

She nodded to them, “I can toss you two a rabbit or two every couple of days as long as you don’t bother this town. Can teach you to hunt, too. They’re good working avus here, they don’t deserve thieves on top of tax.

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

Tumbles expression soured at Pepsi’s incessant aggression, rolling his eyes at the pun, ”Perhaps you need to learn how to stick to a plan.” He groaned.

His ears perked up at the peafowl avus’s words, mind clouded in confusion. He’s not used to avus giving stuff, especially that which was stolen from them. He looks at them and then at the pie as they slide it over towards the two. It’s been far too long since Tumble’s been shown such kindness. He’s hesitant to accept the pastry, luckily he didn’t have to make a decision yet as the avus behind them spoke. Besides, Tumble knew Pepsi had already made his choice.

When the hen gave her piece, he was flabbergasted by the opportunity being offered. While he didn’t think she could teach him much about hunting due to his build, a rabbit or two every couple of days seemed like a really good deal to him. Not only would they not have to steal, but then it would be less likely for them to get chased out of another town. ”T-that would be greatly appreciated.” He said quietly, almost cautious that the offer may be taken away at a moments notice.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

Hmph, you can’t plan for everything,” Tumbleweed’s strange obsession with planning everything, even when the plans were clearly not working was a mystery to Pepsi. The guy really needed to let loose and improvise once in a while.

The sudden acts of generosity were pretty unexpected. Pep couldn’t help but feel like he was being pitied, which didn’t sit very right with him. Then again, the offer to teach him to hunt did peak his interest. He never really considered it before, and it could be something both useful and new and exciting. Plus, any task that allowed him to use weapons sounded good in his book.

Hmm… not half bad of a deal. Not half bad at all…

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

The peafowl gryphus watched the three talk, and was pleasantly surprised by Aedes’ kindness. They blinked, and had a newfound respect for her.

Turquoise was a hunter as well on the side, though they did it mostly to sustain himself. They originally intended to hunt that night, but after what happened today, they decided against it. They were still sore from the fall, and likely needed to rest up. And do a lot of preening and cleaning. They thought sadly, picking up a nearby feather that had fallen off of them and picked it up, examining it.

After considering their next words, they spoke. “I can help hunt too.” They piped up, placing the feather back on the ground. “I regularly go out to hunt if you need extra help.

Usually they wouldn’t offer this kind of thing, but after them nearly fighting the two they felt pretty horrible, and wanted to make it up to them any way they could. Even if one of them thought they were a guard, which infuriated them. Turquoise vowed to himself that he’d spread happiness, and that’s what they were trying to do here. They just hoped these offers weren’t overwhelming both Tumble and Pepsi.

Aedes | She/Her | Gryphus | Tanner

Aedes nodded. The pair seemed a little wary of the offer, in one way or another. She didn’t blame them. This was just a few hairs shy of exactly the kind of offer you should be wary of, especially in such uncertain times. Plenty of avus were willing to sink others so they could keep on swimming. She supposed she also had ulterior motives, but they weren’t nearly as sinister.

Instead of further explaining her position and either seeming more suspicious or drawing unwanted attention from passers by, she merely shrugged. “I‘ll be in town again early tomorrow evening, come or don’t, up to you.” Smiling at the bright coloured gryphus, she added, “help’d be appreciated. D’you know how to make snares? Harpies are great at them, but I’m not a very good teacher for that-” she raised her paw- “gryphus, and only one paw to my name to boot.” She’d studied harpy traps enough to get the gist, but it was mostly for the purpose of safely disarming them. She knew the theory, but had no practice.

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

He felt a little better that he didn’t have to make a decision right away. The open offer made him feel a lot less awkward about the situation, if he didn’t want free food and free training, he could just not show up. Though that was highly unlikely…

Tumble looked at the two others for a moment, ”Thank you for the offer, I’ll most certainly think it over.” he paused, ”I don’t believe we’ve properly introduced…” he chuckled nervously, he may be a thief but his mother raised him with manners darn it! ”The name’s Tumbleweed, and this is my….acquaintance.” He stated with a bit of uncertainty, gesturing to Pepsi with his wing.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

Sure, the fact that the brown hen’s generosity seemed a bit suspicious did cross Pep’s mind for a moment, but he dismissed it pretty quickly. This was a sudden new opportunity, and he’d probably regret not taking it more than he would anything that would go down if he does. Whatever happens happens.

Hm, haven’t MADE a lot of snares per se, but I am pretty good at taking them apart. Doing that but backwards should be simple!” The reason for this was that his only real experiences with snares involved him accidentally getting caught in them while exploring, but he decided to omit that fact.

Name’s Pepsi, I’m the acquaintance.” he clarified after Tumble started introducing himself.

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

Turquoise thought for a moment at Aedes’ words, as if trying to remember something, before nodding. “Yes. My father taught me how. I haven’t made some in for a while so I might not be the best at recreating them, but I do remember. So it might be easier with his help if he’s willing.” They said gesturing towards Pepsi, before realizing Tumbleweed was right. Everybody was still recovering from the chaos of the chase that it didn’t cross their mind.

I’m Turquoise, the artist.” They usually would say some variation of ‘pleasure to meet you’ as well but right now after what happened with the two thieves they weren’t going to use that.

Aedes | She/Her | Gryphus | Tanner

Aedes,” she introduced herself, “tanner-” she shifted the heavy bag of flour uncomfortably on her shoulders and injected some humour into her tone- “broadwing in my spare time.” No one was outright rejecting the offer, so she classed it as an overwhelming success. They trusted her enough not to poison the meat or murder them in the woods, which is a lot more than she would have given in their place.

I’m sure between the three of us we can figure out some decent traps,” she said, “I know my way around some damn good deadfalls.” Because you had to watch out for them when scouting harpy territory. Just about any gryphus could cut their way out of a snare, but a log dropping from the canopy? Not so much. Unfortunately her knowledge on how to hide them lay more on how they were concealed, which wasn’t particularly useful for rats and rabbits.

Now,” she said, shifting the sack again, “if you’ll excuse me, I have a delivery to make-” she nodded to Turquoise- “for your kindness, my friend can probably replace your pie, if you wanna join me for a second.

Tumbleweed | He/him | Gryphus | Herbalist

This had to be the oddest heist of his life. Still, he nodded in acknowledgement to the two. As they went on to discuss a replacement for Turquoises stolen-then-given item, Tumble looked back at Pepsi. He let out a sigh before sliding it back onto his back, he knew the harpy would have a lot more trouble than he would trying to carry around the large pastry. He waddled a bit away to speak more privately with Pep, “What do you think?” He asked, tilting his head to the harpy. “About the offer, I mean.” He felt odd asking that, embarrassed with how dependent that sounded. They weren’t exactly ‘friends’ after all, simply work partners. Tumble actually just wanted to know the roo’s opinion on the situation given so he could decide for himself.

Pepsinae | He/him| Harpy | Citizen

Pshh, taking it, of course! Free pie, free hunting lessons, maybe even a free job later on if things go right! It’s a no brainer!” Pepsi had a confident expression, and clearly wasn’t as worried about the whole thing as Tumble was.

I give it only like… a 50-50 chance of being a death trap.” he summed up tilting his hand from side to side in a ‘more or less’ gesture.

Turquoise | They/He | Gryphus | Artist

The colorful artist looked at Aedes and nodded in agreement. It should be easier with three avus making traps, and it would likely catch more animals. They watched as Pepsi and Tumble went over to the side to discuss their options with eachother, which made a lot of sense to do. They had a right to be skeptical of them both. After all Turquoise was someone they stole from and was trying to help them both all of a sudden, and Aedes was a stranger.

When the brown hen addressed him directly he blinked, surprised at the offer. They had not exactly expected a reward for their kindness. Its sad to think kindness like that should be deserving of a reward these days. They thought sadly.

Oh! Uh… sure.” Turquoise said, finding that was all they could say due to their surprise. “Thank you.” The blue gryphus glanced at the two small avus briefly. Then they looked back at Aedes, standing up to follow her.

Aedes | She/Her | Gryphus | Tanner

Don’t worry about it,” Aedes shrugged, “we’re not short on flour just yet.” They probably would be very soon, but that was besides the point. They could certainly spare a pie for a potentially ally.

Leaving the pair of thieves behind to scheme about her offer, Aedes headed towards Six’s bakery, beckoning for Turquoise to follow. She didn’t have any more allies, but she had three more potential allies, which was a damn sight more than she’d had yesterday. It was a small start, but a start nonetheless.
