Race cars stolen by suspects who broke into two Villa Rica businesses, police say

VILLA RICA, Ga. — Villa Rica police are searching for suspects they said broke into two business and stole items, including four midget race cars.

Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta said the race cars were “for a young boy who dreams of one day becoming a professional racecar driver.”

Police said early Wednesday morning, the suspects cut the fence at Cross & Sons Plumbing on Liberty Road and the stole catalytic converters from four vehicles and a white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. The truck was recovered the next day in Douglas County.

The suspects also cut the fence to Advanced RV Storage on Baker Industrial Court, police said. There they stole catalytic converters from two RVs and a grey 2007 Ford F-350.

Investigators said the suspects used that truck to steal a trailer holding four quarter midget race cars, along with tools and gear. The trailer was recovered in Atlanta, but the race cars are still missing.
