Stolen SUV recovered in Chatham park

A citizen walking his dog in the Thames Grove Conservation Wednesday morning spotted a white GMC Acadia stuck inside the park.

The responding Chatham-Kent officers confirmed the vehicle had been stolen. There were no suspects located in or around the vehicle, police said. A crime scene officer took photos and fingerprints from inside the vehicle.

Warrant arrests

An officer found a man  on Richmond Street Wednesday afternoon located who had an outstanding warrant for allegedly failing to attend court for an assault charge.

The 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with another court date.

In a separate incident Wednesday night, police arrived at the Tim Hortons on Third Street for a suspicious person call.

Police located the man who was found to have an outstanding warrant for allegedly breaching his probation. The 37-year-old of no fixed address was arrested and released with a court date.

Police seek stolen vehicle

Police responded to an address on Norton Line just outside of Moraviantown Wednesday afternoon for a report of a stolen vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a silver 2006 Buick Allure with licence plate CDME 571, police said.
