NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ – A South Jersey resident is offering to “shell” out $500 to anyone who can bring back his missing turtle.
The eight-year-old yellow belly slider was reported missing on April 27, according to owner Bill Madle’s post in a Facebook group for missing Cape May pets.
“Turtle was getting sunshine in [the] yard,” Madle said, when she “most likely” escaped onto the pavement on 12th Street between Atlantic and Central Avenues.
The semi-aquatic turtle needs special medical care, as well as water and land requirements, Madle said.
The turtle owner is now offering $500 for Ryda’s safe return, according to several media outlets and Madle’s Facebook profile.
Anyone with information about Ryda’s whereabouts are urged to call Madle at 609-846-3659.
