Searchers found what may be the missing Alexis Gabe’s bones in the Pioneer, 60 miles southeast of Sacramento, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains foothills.
The local sheriff’s office has sent the bones for DNA analysis. It could take up to two months to get the DNA results, and Gabe’s parents are asking for the analysis to be speeded up.
Alexis’ father, Gwyn Gabe, says the $100,000 reward the family is offering has helped muster over 700 volunteers in the search for his daughter’s remains.

Her parents said new evidence led them to believe Alexis is dead, ABC7 News reported. A map allegedly made by Jones led police and volunteers to Pioneer.
The map was confirmed as having been drawn and handwritten by Jones. “It has directions, starting at Vacaville, at his sister’s house, all the way to Pioneer,” Gwyn said.
Police said Jones murdered Alexis. Seattle-area police killed Jones when he resisted as they tried to arrest him in June.
