Shoplifting suspect threatens security with bloody needle

King County Prosecutors have charged a shoplifting suspect who threatened to stab a store security employee with a bloody syringe.

The incident happened at the QFC on 2500 SE Barton Street in Seattle. According to Seattle Police, Homas Joo put three bags of frozen shrimp in a shopping cart and walked towards the exit without paying for the frozen shrimp.

Prosecutors say Joo pulled out a bloody needle, uncapped it, pointed it towards the victim, and said, “If you come near me, I’ll stab you.”

The store security person was afraid the defendant would follow through with his threat and backed away while Joo left the store without paying.

Seattle Police arrested Joo. During a search of the defendant, officers found several used syringes on him. He is charged with second-degree assault and his bail is set at $10,000.
