Thomas K. Burton has been missing for more than a month. His family is praying for his safe return

Family members of Thomas “TK” Burton, missing now for over a month, have started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for a reward for information on finding him or finding out what happened to him.

Winston-Salem police said Burton was last seen on July 29, and asked the public for help in finding him. Burton was last seen in the 100 block of N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, police said.

Family members running the GoFundMe campaign said they are hoping that a reward in the case could encourage someone with vital information to come forward. Whether the effort leads to finding Burton or making an arrest in his disappearance, they said, any money that’s left over would go toward supporting Burton’s wife and year-old son.

“Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to bringing TK back home and providing some peace to our family,” family members said on the GoFundMe page. “We appreciate all your prayers, shares, and support.”

Police said Burton is a Black man with brown eyes and black hair. He stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, orange shoes and black pants.

Burton is 30 years old. Police said that Burton was known to have been in Randolph County just before he was reported missing from Winston-Salem.

Burton’s wife, Jacqueline Guzman, said prayer and the support of friends and family have sustained her while she waits in hope of hearing something about her husband.

“I haven’t received any significant updates from the police,” she said. “I know the detectives are working on certain things. The GoFundMe is basically a reward to convince the public to come forward with information they may have about my husband’s whereabouts.”

Guzman said it helps to compose herself when her son is awake so that life can go on as normally as possible for the boy.

“I’m just waiting on the detectives to do their investigation,” she said.
