Three Hondo children who went missing with their father last week were found safe Sunday night. Medina County Sheriff’s Office reports on Facebook that the three Wright children — 11-year-old Jonathan, 9-year-old Lucas, and 8-year-old Ariana — were found in a field in the Rio Medina area, which is about 90 minutes west of San Antonio.

The children were originally reported missing on Tuesday, December 21, when an Amber Alert was sent out. They were reportedly on foot with their father, Jonathan Wright, 40, and without shelter.

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Jonathan Wright has been charged, but MCSO has not confirmed to MySA what charges he is facing. The U.S. Marshals announced a $5,000 reward for information on the case on December 22, saying Wright has warrants for third-degree sexual exploitation of a child out of Mooresville, North Carolina.

North Carolina station WLOS reported that the children were also traveling with the mother and two older children, whose names were not disclosed, when the family’s car broke down. That’s when Wright allegedly took off on foot with the three younger children, leaving the mother with the two older children.

Medina County deputies spotted the mother and two children walking into a store in Rio Medina. The location of mother and two children was not disclosed.
