ERCOT issues weather watch for next week

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas released a weather watch Wednesday in anticipation of next week’s Arctic front.

The watch is issued for Monday to next Wednesday, according to ERCOT.

Below freezing temperatures during this period are expected to produce a higher demand for energy with the potential for lower reserves. Although ERCOT expects grid conditions to remain normal, it is asking Texans to continue to monitor power demand via its website.

ERCOT also recommends to reduce power consumption during peak demand. Further details on how to save energy can be found at ercot.com.
