Central Alabama Crime Stoppers on Friday announced the $1,000 reward in the June 1 slaying of 36-year-old Sharmeethia Mason. The deadly shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. that Tuesday on 11th Avenue in Phenix City.

Gary Earl Stone Jr., known affectionately as Junior, was shot to death about 6 p.m. June 27. Sylacauga police responded that Sunday to 413 N. Nashville Avenue in the Buttermilk Hill community on a report of a person shot. Once on the scene they found Stone suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
