Cash Reward Offered For Information On Fredericksburg Homicide

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Jasiah Smith was shot and killed on Sunday in Fredericksburg. Four days later, authorities have yet to identify any suspects in connection with the shooting.

Now, as investigators look to speak with anyone who may have more information, the Fredericksburg Police Department is offering a cash reward.

The police department has not specified an amount for the reward. The cash would be given to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest in connection with Smith’s death.

The shooting occurred around 3 p.m. on Sunday in the 400 block of Chadwick Court in Fredericksburg. The 911 emergency center received a call for shots fired, the police department said.

When officers arrived, they found Smith unresponsive and lying in a parking space. He had been shot multiple times, according to the police report. The police officers provided first aid until EMS personnel took Smith to the hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

“Detectives are working tirelessly on the investigation and ask anyone with information to come forward,” the Fredericksburg Police Department wrote on Facebook.
