Christmas Special
It is nighttime in the center of San Francisco where a large Christmas tree is set up and there are festive lights and decorations everywhere. George Ferrier is at the scene and news cameras roll. George Ferrier said, “I am George Ferrier of DDD News. I am here in the city center of San Francisco. It is a tradition that the city’s Christmas tree is always lit up by the mayor himself and it is an even greater tradition that it is covered by DDD News.” The mayor takes the podium and he said, “Let there be light…” The mayor presses a button and the tree lights up brightly but then sparks fly everywhere and the tree catches on fire. A large mob of evil and deranged clowns show up and they start causing havoc and chaos in the street. Average citizens are attacked by the clowns and the clowns try to capture the mayor. A searchlight is activated and it displays the letters, CF in the sky. Captain Fusion is in his lair at his computer and an emergency action notification flashes on the screen showing the chaos in the city. Captain Fusion gets to the Fusion Mobile and heads off to downtown.
The streets are in chaos and the Fusion Mobile drives through the streets. Captain Fusion fires spinning discs out of the machine and they knock down some of the clowns. Captain Fusion stops the Fusion Mobile and he jumps out and he fights off the clowns. The clowns gang up on Captain Fusion and Captain Fusion grabs one of them and he throws the clown into the other clowns. More clowns gather around and Captain Fusion takes direct combat to them and in a short matter of time, all the clowns are knocked down with stars spinning around their heads. The mayor brushes himself off and he said, “There we have it. We were all saved once again by our local hero, Captain Fusion.” News crews go to Captain Fusion and Captain Fusion said, “Something tells me this is not the last we will see of these clowns. I think this whole thing may have been a cover up for something. I suspect a greater evil force is at play and wants to ruin Christmas for everyone in San Francisco and possibly the world.” George Ferrier said, “There you have it. Don’t be surprised to find coal in your stocking next Christmas morning. That is unless Captain Fusion saves Christmas.” Jason and Mason are in Mason’s lab watching this on TV. Jason said, “Who do you think is behind all this?” Mason said, “There are all sorts of people out there that want to ruin Christmas for everyone. The possibilities are endless. If this predicament gets worse, there is a good chance we will get a fax from Captain Fusion requesting our assistance.”
A deranged looking man with a sideways face and gray hair with gray stubble stands on the roof of a building. He watches all the clowns getting arrested and he watches the city’s Christmas tree get set up properly and lit properly. The deranged man said, “How could my plan have failed? I recruited the best circus rejects the city had to offer just to sabotage the one thing that deserves to be sabotaged more than anything else, Christmas. I should rule over Christmas. Christmas should be my thing. People will look up to me when they do something bad and say, “Oh look. It’s the the the the… THE FINCH! People will be scared of me. Kids will never do anything bad again if I ruled Christmas and gave the kids of the world what they truly deserve, coal in their stockings and a good butt whooping.”
The Finch looks down at the city and then he looks up at the night sky from the roof top. The Finch hears Christmas music coming from a series of red, yellow, and green lights in the sky. The Finch said, “What’s this? Could that be…” The Finch takes out a spy glass and he looks at the series of lights and he sees Santa flying in his sleigh. The Finch said, “Santa is here already? It is not even Christmas eve yet. I need to see this.” The Finch follows Santa and he sees Santa lands at a department store that is closed for the night. Santa lands on the roof of the store and he gets out of the sleigh with an elf and they have magic bags that are empty. They jump down a vent on the roof and they end up in the store. Santa and the elf take toys and video games off the shelves and they stash them into their magic bags. Santa and the elf use magic to work their way around security systems. The Finch is standing out on the street watching this. The Finch goes to a payphone and he calls 911.”
The cops show up while Santa and the elf are still in the store. The cops surround the store. Santa and the elf see the cops show up and Santa said, “Quick, we must get out of here. I think we have enough stuff from this store.” Santa and the elf use a harpoon gun and they zip up the vent. Santa and the elf take their loot back to the sleigh and they fly off. The cops see Santa fly off and they take out their guns and they start shooting at Santa in the sleigh. They shoot down Santa and Santa crashes off in the distance. One of the cops said, “Where did he land?” The Finch walks up to that cop and he said, “Let me have that.” The Finch takes a police communicator out of the cop’s hand and The Finch runs off to his rooftop. The Finch looks to the outskirts of the city and he sees where Santa’s sleigh crashed and he uses his spyglass to see Santa and the elf get out of the crashed sleigh. The Finch uses the police communicator and he said, “I spotted them. They are on the hill point section on the northeast end of the city.” The cops go there and they catch and arrest Santa and the elf. The Finch stands on the sidelines and watches this happen. The police commissioner shows up. The commissioner said, “Mr. Finch, you did it. For years there have been mysterious break-ins at all the major department stores in the city and the police have always been baffled by how someone was able to bypass those tight security lock systems. You have just spotted the man behind this. I will tell the mayor about this and I am going to see that you get a reward for saving the city.”
The next morning, Jason and Mason sit in front of a TV showing DDD News. George Ferrier comes on the screen and he said, “I am George Ferrier of DDD News. Last night, a man dressed as Santa and a short man dressed as an elf were caught stealing from a local department store here in the city of San Francisco.” Photos of Santa and the elf are shown on the screen. George said, “We have our new local hero that calls himself, The Finch to thank for this arrest. Since Finch is now considered a hero, he will be receiving the key to the city and he will be getting an extra special command title overseeing the capturing of thieves in the city. It is quite an important role since there are a lot of break-ins over the holidays.” Jason said, “That’s Santa.” Mason said, “Don’t tell me you still believe in this stuff?” Jason said, “This confirms my theory. I always knew as a kid that Santa could not possibly make all the toys and video games he gives to kids these days. I wondered how he gets it all and I came to one conclusion. Santa breaks into stores in the days before Christmas and he steals all the latest toys and games that kids want and then he delivers them to kids on Christmas eve.” Mason said, “That sounds like one of the dumbest schemes I have ever heard of. If Santa has really been doing this for all these years, then how come he was not caught until now?” Jason said, “Santa just got unlucky this time. Captain Fusion should know all about these kinds of things. Let’s see what he thinks of this.”
Jason and Mason visit Captain Fusion and Captain Fusion said, “Santa Claus is indeed real.” Mason’s eyes go big and Jason said, “I told you so.” Captain Fusion said, “I helped him once in the 60’s. Toys were becoming more complex and prices were skyrocketing. A lot of kids were in families that lost people in Vietnam and the military didn’t properly pay their families so a lot of families went broke. I figured that something had to be done about this. Santa visited me and he discussed the issue. I realized that kids deserve a good Christmas and they should not have to suffer because of things done by armies, corrupt bankers, and Lyndon Johnson so I figured I would help Santa with his plan to get kids all the latest and greatest toys. I used my artificial intellect to build Santa a new sleigh and I created a new system for the north pole to make it more efficient. Santa knew he would need bailing out from me eventually. I still have the coordinates to the north pole saved in my computer. I watched the news reports. That guy that was caught was Santa and the short guy was one of his elves. Christmas is in grave danger and we need to save it. All the kids deserve a fair and decent Christmas.”
The Finch looks through the sleigh that is brought to a garage. The Finch goes through the machinery and he manages to fix the sleigh. The Finch turns on the sleigh and it runs. The Finch also has the magic bags that can seem to hold anything. The Finch uses the sleigh and he zips off to the north pole.
The Finch gets on a podium at the north pole and all of the inhabitants of the north pole including elves gather around. The Finch said, “As you elves may have heard, Santa Claus has been sent to the slammer. I have now been placed in charge of overseeing everything Santa had and that would include me assuming ownership of the north pole.” One of the senior elves steps to the front and said, “But sir, Santa has ownership of the north pole and I don’t think ownerships transfer over when someone is arrested. You see in this book of mine.” The elf takes out a book and clowns surround the elf. The elf said, “I am under arrest, aren’t I?” The Finch said, “You most certainly are. Let this be a lesson for anyone that goes against me. If you go against me, you will get arrested and be placed in the old toy factory that I am now converting into a prison. In fact, I think more of you should get arrested. You all belong in prison and all you elves should do is the long process of making coal. You should also work on these new robots that will punish kids for being bad. You will work for twenty hours a day and sculpt coal and manufacture punishment robots for all the kids of the world.” The Finch takes control of robotic nutcrackers and they guard the prisons and they find and capture elves and force them to work on coal and robots. Clowns are stationed to protect the Finch while he sits in the warm and cozy office drinking some hot drink while all the elves and north pole people suffer from madness and insanity.
Jason, Mason, and Captain Fusion arrive at the jail and they are dressed in suits with ties. Captain Fusion goes to the front desk and he said, “I am from the state correctional department and I am here to inspect the jail facilities. I inspect them to confirm they meet all the jail mandates required by the state. These are my interns.” Captain Fusion points to Jason and Mason and they wave.
Captain Fusion with Jason and Mason are brought to the holding cells while Jason and Mason take notes. The warden said, “This is where we keep our criminals that are awaiting trial. They say, ‘innocent until proven guilty’ but that’s a load of bull.” Captain Fusion said, “It sure is.” Captain Fusion with Jason and Mason are brought to a cell where criminals gather around Santa and his elf and he teaches them to sing Christmas songs. Captain Fusion with Jason and Mason enter the cell. Captain Fusion looks at all the criminals and he sees Santa. Captain Fusion flinches back and he said, “Who is this?” The warden looks at his records and he said, “We never properly identified the man. We have him written as John Doe since he refuses to give us a name. He keeps insisting that he is Santa Claus.” Captain Fusion said, “Is that so?” Santa said, “I am Santa Claus. This is a big mistake. If we let that Finch get off, Christmas will be ruined for everyone.” One of the criminals said, “He is Santa. He is magical and he has made us all come together in harmony. We used to fight everyday but now we don’t since Santa showed up.” Captain Fusion gives the warden a dirty look. Captain Fusion said, “This man claims to be Santa Claus and you just keep him in here like all the other criminals? Look at what he’s done. He is poisoning the minds of your criminals. I bet this man isn’t even a real criminal. There is no way someone like this could possibly be the real Santa. We need to let him leave in our custody.” The warden said, “This man broke into several department stores and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the shelves.” Captain Fusion said, “How could a nut like this possibly commit a crime as such. He needs to be let free.” The warden said, “I cannot let you take him. He is ordered to stay here until his trial on January 28.” Captain Fusion said, “You listen to me. I know the state correctional system very well. I know that nuts like these could never commit a crime as elaborate as you claim they have.” Jason said, “Is this how the prison system is supposed to work?” Captain Fusion said, “No. It is not supposed to work like this.” Captain Fusion shows the warden a badge he has with an ID card issued by the state saying he is a criminal counsellor that specializes with mental patients.” Captain Fusion said, “You must let him come with me.” The warden said, “You are a state mental specialist? Then you must fill out the forms.”
Captain Fusion with Jason, Mason, and Santa with his elf leave the jail. They get to the Fusion Mobile and Jason said, “I didn’t think that would work.” Captain Fusion said, “I had to pull some strings with some people I know at the state correctional institutes but a lot of them have been long time fans of mine.” Santa said, “We need to get to the north pole. I heard The Finch was given control of the evidence rooms and he owns everything in them. He has access to my sleigh. My sleigh has the coordinates plotted for the north pole. The Finch could be there right now doing who knows what to my people.” Jason said, “If you don’t have your sleigh, then how will we get to the north pole?” Captain Fusion said, “We will fly there.”
Captain Fusion takes Jason, Mason, Santa, and elf to the outside of his lair where he unveils a new Fusion Attack Ship. Captain Fusion jumps in the ship and begins setting it up. El Dorro and Pamela show up. Jason said, “Pamela, El Dorro.” Pamela said, “We heard about what happened to Santa and we think it is unfair and unjust.” El Dorro said, “Santa was the only one that actually gave me anything good when I was a kid. It was way better than the debris from houses my father raided. We owe a lot to Santa for all he has done for us.” Pamela said, “We know the Finch is behind all this. We are going to go to that north pole and show that Finch who’s boss.” El Dorro said, “Yeah. I even have my samurai sword.” El Dorro shows his samurai sword. El Dorro and Pamela join the team of Jason, Mason, Captain Fusion, Santa, and elf that go into the Fusion Attack Ship and they fly off to the north pole.
They get close to the north pole and they appear as a red dot on the Finch’s radar. One of the clowns said, “We have identified the craft as being built by Captain Fusion and it has lifeforms aboard. One of them appears to be very fat and has a white beard.” The Finch said, “Scramble the air defenses.” Toy planes come and attack the Fusion Attack Ship. Captain Fusion makes the ship dodge the attacks and he presses a button and a missile launcher comes out and it blasts homing missiles at the toy planes. The toy planes get destroyed. A large toy of a UFO shows up and it hovers over the Fusion Attack Ship. Jason looks scared. Jason said, “I think they have us.” Captain Fusion said, “I am scanning them right now. All these things appear to be toys since that is what they have the most of in the north pole. Ah ha. Weakness detected.” Captain Fusion makes the Fusion Attack Ship zip through a critical point on the UFO and the UFO falls to pieces and explodes.
Captain Fusion hovers the ship around the north pole village where they see elves getting whipped by evil nutcrackers and clowns patrolling the streets. Defense turrets activate. Captain Fusion dodges the shots and he fires missiles at them and the turrets are still intact. Jason said, “Try this.” Jason hands Captain Fusion a can of orange soda. Captain Fusion loads it in the launcher and it launches a can of orange soda at the turret and it breaks through the shielding and the can breaks and soda leaks in the turret causing the turret to stop working. Jason said, “I got more.”
Captain Fusion lands the ship in the center of the city. Nutcrackers and clowns surround the ship. The door to the ship breaks off and El Dorro dashes out with his samurai sword and he slashes down the nutcrackers. More nutcrackers come and El Dorro keeps slashing them down. Santa said, “We need to get to my control room. That is likely where Finch is. It is in my main tower.” The nutcrackers grab El Dorro and Pamela and they take them to the prison. Santa and the Elf get punched in the gut by the nutcrackers. Santa said, “You must get to my office. That is where the master controls are.” Jason, Mason, and Captain Fusion dash for the office while they use Captain Fusion’s handheld particle blasters to blast down nutcrackers and clowns and make a path to the entrance.
Pamela and El Dorro are forced into the factory and an inspector clown looks at them. He said, “Ah good. I had to fry a few elves that refused to do their jobs. I guess we have replacements.” Pamela is directed to operate a crane that lifts coal crates and robot containers and places them where the elves can work. El Dorro is brought to an assembly line where he must inspect the robots. El Dorro looks at the robots and he said, “What exactly am I supposed to do with these things?” The inspector clown said, “You will assume the role of a child that misbehaved all year. Like so…” The clown grabs El Dorro’s hand and he makes El Dorro press a button on one of the robots and it activates and beats up El Dorro. El Dorro rubs his wounds and he said, “You expect me to do this for all of them?” The inspector said, “All of them.” El Dorro is left alone with the toys.
Jason, Mason, and Captain Fusion get to the entrance of Santa’s office. It is locked with a computerized lock. Captain Fusion said, “I know how to break these.” Captain Fusion takes out a handheld PC and he connects it to the lock and he hands a screen to Mason. Captain Fusion said, “Press the buttons on my signal.” Mason’s screen said, “Break Attempt Failed.” Captain Fusion said, “The firmware on these locks must be more up to date than my lock breaker.” Mason said, “How will we get in now?” Jason turns the knob on the door and it opens. Jason said, “It wasn’t even locked.” Jason, Mason, and Captain Fusion run into the office. They end up in the main foyer where clowns are everywhere. The clowns jump around Jason, Mason, and Captain Fusion. Captain Fusion fights them off. Mason uses his boxing glove on a coil to knock out some of the clowns. Jason shakes an orange soda can and he throws it at clowns and Mason shoots it with a particle cannon in midair and it explodes and the soda flies into the eyes of the clowns and they stop and rub their eyes. Mason said, “I think we neutralized them.” Jason, Mason, and Captain Fusion run up a set of candy cane steps and they make it to the top but they are in a large room right under the main office. They see a Christmas tree set up with presents underneath and Christmas decorations everywhere. Jason said, “We just walked right into a Christmas card.” Mason said, “What the… Is that… Keith?” Keith is at the tree going through presents. Keith is wearing his usual sweater with white shirt and black tie but the sweater is red with a green zig-zag stripe. Mason said, “What’s your deal with Santa?” Keith said, “You are asking a question you already know the answer too. I am Keith. Finch paid me a large sum of money to build and design evil robots intended for punishing bad kids which seems to be most kids this Christmas. I even designed new upgrades for a sleigh that is way better than anything Santa has used before. I was also specifically asked to stop anyone that tries to enter the Finch’s office without his consent. I guess you qualify as such.” Keith presses a button on his watch and he is engulfed in a large battle robot. Mason presses his button to summon his robot but it says, “Not in range.”
Keith throws some punches in the robot suit and Captain Fusion stops the punches. Captain Fusion struggles to hold the fists of Keith’s robot with his hands. Captain Fusion pushes Keith back. Keith throws more attacks on Captain Fusion and Captain Fusion gets smacked in the face and flipped backwards and his head is pummeled into the floor.
Pamela works the crane at the factory and she sees it goes on rails on the ceiling and there are more rails but they are blocked by a large block in the rails. Pamela notices the inspector clown has a ray gun on his belt. Pamela lightly jerks the control stick for the crane and she said, “Inspector! I think the crane is stuck.” The inspector clown comes and he pushes Pamela aside and he tries to control the stick and it works fine. While he is at the control stick, Pamela steals his ray gun and he holds it up to the inspector. Pamela said, “You will let all the elves go free and you will let El Dorro and myself leave in peace.” The clown throws a kick to Pamela’s fist holding the ray gun and it goes flying in the air and Pamela quickly jumps off the clown and grabs the ray gun and she blasts the inspector with it and he forms into a glowing silhouette and he disappears. Pamela fires the ray beam at the block and it disappears and she makes the crane destroy the nutcrackers and it destroys the factory equipment producing coal and robots. All the elves cheer on Pamela. Pamela and El Dorro reunite and El Dorro said, “Where are the master controls for this place?” Pamela uses her ray gun and she blasts down the only hidden door in the place and they find a control room and El Dorro’s samurai sword is there. Pamela sees programming controls for the robots and they are all coded to attack and smack down kids. Pamela changes the coding of the toys so they do the opposite to the kids and clowns.
Jason, Mason, and Captain Fusion hide behind a barricade of presents while Keith stands mighty over them. Keith said, “This is the greatest gift anyone has ever given me. I have my rival pinned down and the ‘greatest hero in the world’ cannot beat my new mech.” The place starts to rumble and a swarm of elves run into the office and they all jump on Keith’s mech. Keith tries fighting them off but they keep piling on. Keith has trouble moving his mech and El Dorro jumps in and he cuts the arms and legs off the mech with his sword and he slashes it down the middle causing the mech to explode. Pamela uses the ray gun to blast down the door to Finch’s office and they all pile in.
The Finch sits at his office and everyone that piles in sees his new shiny black sleigh. The Finch said, “I am glad all of you can join me. You will all watch the first flight of my new sleigh. It will be loaded with these robot toys and coal.” Finch has one of the robots in his hand and it activates and starts smacking Finch. Finch throws the toy down and more of the toys come to life and beat up Finch and his clowns. Santa in a mech jumps to the window and breaks through the glass. Santa said, “You didn’t expect I would have my own battle mech, did you?” Finch sees he is outnumbered by everyone. Finch said, “You may all have me outnumbered but remember, Christmas is not a democracy.” Finch runs for his sleigh and he turns it on and he zips out of the broken glass. Santa’s mech grabs onto Finch’s sleigh and Finch tries to dash away. Santa said, “I have a strong grip on him but, he is…” Jason and Mason run up the arm of Santa’s mech and they jump on the sleigh just as it dashes off.
Jason and Mason fight Finch and Finch knocks Jason off but Jason grabs onto the side of the sleigh. Mason fights Finch and Finch takes out a fusion cutter. Mason grabs onto Finch’s arm and tries to stop Finch from cutting him with the fusion cutter. Jason jumps back in the sleigh and Jason goes to the computerized controls and tries changing them. Finch looks back at Jason and he said, “The controls are set in stone. They cannot be altered. It is only a matter of time before I get to the world and give all the kids the coal they rightfully deserve.” Jason pushes Finch to Mason and Mason knocks Finch over and Mason grabs Finch’s fusion cutter. Finch takes out another fusion cutter and Mason and Finch duel. Finch lures Mason to the edge of the sleigh and Mason looks away and smiles. Mason jumps off the sleigh and he cuts the sleigh with the fusion cutter and punctures the center core of the sleigh. Mason falls into the snowy abyss. Finch goes to the computer and he sees it says, “Danger. Core breach. Critical error in flight path.” The sleigh starts spiraling out of control. Jason goes to jump off and Finch grabs onto Jason. Finch said, “No you don’t. You are going down on this thing with me.” There is a blast from behind and he sees the Fusion Attack Ship and Captain Fusion is firing on the sleigh. The sleigh is being shot so it flies upwards and Jason falls out and lands in the Fusion Attack Ship. Captain Fusion keeps firing at the sleigh upwards and the sleigh goes so high in the atmosphere it freezes and it falls back and explodes and Finch is engulfed in the explosion.
Captain Fusion brings the Attack Ship back to the north pole. Santa said, “I am glad for all of you. You have defeated Finch but Christmas is not saved yet. It is Christmas eve and we are behind schedule. My sleigh is destroyed and I don’t have a replacement. Finch got Keith to mod my replacement sleigh but it just got destroyed.” Captain Fusion said, “Don’t worry. I built my Fusion Attack Ship with the same technology I used to help make your sleigh years back. We can send this thing all over the world in a jiffy and we can use those magic sacks you have to store all the toys you made.” Santa said, “I lost all the games and toys from the department store when the police arrested me.” Captain Fusion looks at one of the reprogramed robots and he said, “I think we have replacements. I am sure the kids are going to love these.”
Jason, Mason, Captain Fusion, and Santa fly in the Fusion Attack Ship all over the world and they land in streets and the four of them run to different houses and deliver toys. They travel the world and do this and they eventually are left delivering things to Keith’s place. Mason jumps down the chimney and he goes to Keith’s Christmas tree. Keith said, “Well Mason. I see you have resorted to being a pawn for Santa Claus.” Mason said, “You may not have been the best but you sure have given us a lot of entertainment over the years. Here, have a present.” Mason places the present under the tree and leaves the mansion. Keith opens the present and it is coal and one of the robots and it beats up Keith. Keith smashes the toy with the coal.
It is early morning and Jason and Mason return home and they lie in front of their Christmas tree and it is filled with presents. Jason and Mason open them up and they find new gadgets, good new technology, and toys mostly for Jason. El Dorro and Pamela come over and they show they got a lot of the same things. Captain Fusion shows up and he looks down on them. Captain Fusion said, “I am glad you enjoyed all the presents I got for you. You didn’t think Santa could possibly have made all that? Why do you think he resorts to stealing these days?” Jason, Mason, Captain Fusion, El Dorro, and Pamela take a photo in front of the Christmas tree.
