A man previously reported missing by police has been found dead in a southeast Austin neighborhood.
Cristian Rangel, 24, was discovered deceased at approximately 7:06 p.m. on Friday, April 19, in the 5800 block of Spring Meadow Road, after officers responded to reports of a body in the area.
Rangel had been missing since April 8, when he was last seen in the passenger seat of a light-colored SUV in a Wal-Mart parking lot on the eastbound Hwy 290 service road in southwest Austin.

The case is being investigated as an ongoing death investigation by the Austin Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS.
A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
