Local hero receives “Thank You” letter

The woman rescued from a fire at the Valley River Inn has crafted a sentimental gift for the local hero who saved her.

Stacy Barkley was working on a bunny shaped cross stitch when the fire broke out in the room adjacent to hers’.

She has now incorporated this cross stitch into a thank you card for the gentleman that helped her escape the fire, Greg Spike.

She says it includes Spring motifs and represents life after the cold winter months.

Barkley hopes to reunite with Spike when she returns to Eugene for the birth of her first grandchild in June.
